I forget to read, man the devil’s a liar

Well I guess we all know that already.  Why is it easier to watch an episode of Lost, go to the gym, visit Publix to buy some dessert or just about anything else than it is to read the Bible for 5-15 minutes.  Maybe I’m the only one with this issue but I truly have to schedule time to read.  Once I get reading, I can go for a good while but just to start.  Another problem is if I try reading to late in the evening I don’t last more than 15 seconds.  I’m in rems corridor before I can get past 1 chapter.  Oh well, I’ll just pray on it.

Tip: If you find yourself slowly getting addicted to Tylenol PM, trying reading the Bible at night.

  1. Don’t feel bad, you’re not alone. Here I am at 10:55pm responding to this blog when I could and should be reading the Bible. If I start reading now, I’ll be knocked out by 11:00, having read about 3 verses over and over again because I keep dozing off.
I find it helpful to take my Bible to work and read during my lunch break. I’m wide awake at that time and I can focus because I don’t have too many distractions around me such as the television, or computer.
    Good Luck :)
